MAN, THE GO GETTER, NEVER THE GO GIVER

Some scrub their bodies, some scrub their houses
Some use holy water to remove ghosts and curses
Cleanliness is next to Godliness they say
It's the mind that needs cleaning out every single day
For it's full of desires of one thing or another
It is the state of mind that made everyone suffer
For desires are full of expectation
Man's idea of purity is the wrong interpretation
His mind full of dirt of me, me,me
Considering his own feelings came quite naturally
And he will say what about me? Again and again
And then put his case of how he was left out and tell you when
So many have more than enough but will never share
Acting quite miserly, as though the cupboard is bare
Inside, he closes up on all he holds dear
To have it taken away he will always fear
People work so hard to get it and when they've got it
They will fight tooth and nail to never lose it
The yogi sits like an angel giving good wishes
If you took everything from him he is busy giving out goodness
He feels indebted and blessed from what he is
What he has or has not cannot remove his bliss
The only thing he really has of what he calls mine
Is a non-selective giving, state of mind
And that can never be taken from him
It is an ocean of good wishes exuding from him
'Let's see what I can get', would spoil that flow
'What about me?' He no longer chooses to know
He drenches himself in God's love light
And shares it with humanity day and night
Angels are not born angels, they earned their wings
Changed getting to giving without conditions or strings
So, if ever you’re struggling with mental anguish
And suddenly feel uplifted by a good wish
Then it is probably an angel just passing by
They look the same but think differently from you and I
