AWARENESS IS KING

There's nothing more important than the soul

How it comes into the body to play its role

When the quickening takes place you have arrived

To be born with the body right by your side

Then takes another after three score and ten

It’s been aware of its body from way back when

Aware of his house, his car, his job, his wife

Aware of everything that wasn't his life

The soul is life, nothing else

Its state determines our health and wealth

We left everything behind to do the same thing again

Much pain and sorrow went deep within

A faulty awareness caused it all

Aware of country and gender nurtured the fall

Oh soul so what will be your awareness today

For the awareness of self is fading away

Check it now for we will be aware of many things

Enslaved like a slave, though we are kings

Exiled in the jungle with the promise of success

Telling us we're all sinners and need to confess

So impressionable by others when no longer impressive

We went from annoyance to quite aggressive

We etched what we're not, deep inside

Object consciousness soured all pride

And so we object when things don't go our way

Oh man the self as a soul has truly faded away

The phoenix from the ashes is truly the story about this

How the object of the soul realised bliss

It’s not a physical object of course

But the eternal self that rides this horse (body)

Oh man, hey man, don't plunder yourself

Chasing after health and wealth

It's nothing to do with the body and the money

Only awareness of the self will steal the honey

The ageing process will slow right down

Only our attachments caused us to drown

Then to leave it all in the blinking of an eye

No wonder a baby knows how to cry

Oh where oh where is your awareness right now
